My name is Carol and I am a loving wife, mum to two amazing grown up children and slave to a very small black & white cat named Fifi!
Interestingly, my grandad was a photographer back in the day, so perhaps my love of photography springs from my genes?Anyway, ever since I can remember, I have had a keen interest in photography which eventually led to my studying photography at college and at the Open University. I have also participated in a number of workshops with some very talented photographers.
I try to make my photo sessions as relaxed and informal as possible because I feel that this is the key to creating the most natural images. I absolutely love documenting some of the most important events in people's lives and capturing their special memories forever.
The ideal time to photograph a newborn is between 5-10 days of life. During these first few days newborns are generally more sleepy and flexible.
As you can imagine, a newborn session may take between two/three hours, allowing time for feeding, nappy changing, rocking back to sleep, lots of cuddles etc ....
I'm also aware that travelling with a tiny baby isn't easy, so (if you prefer) I'm happy to set up my mobile studio in your home.
If you do decide to have a newborn photo session at home, please choose a room that is warm, with a large window that lets in plenty of light. There also needs to be enough space for a beanbag and blanket back drop with a frame and plenty of space for me to move around.
'At Home' or 'On Location'
At home and on location sessions are relaxed and fun photo-shoots that capture your family in a natural setting enjoying some family time together. These photography sessions can take place within the comfort of your own home or on location, outdoors at a place of your choice - perhaps at a local park or a favourite beauty spot?
If you prefer high key, studio type images, I also have a fully mobile studio kit.
